IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications
08-10 November 2017 – Guatemala City, Guatemala

Camera Ready Instructions

Dear Authors,

In order to publish your papers in the conference proceedings, you MUST (by October 22nd) do the following:

1. Fill and sign the copyright form:

Fill the authors’ names and paper’s title (replace the red “X”, in the docx file, with your data), print, sign the form, scan and send to the e-mail showed below along with your Camera Ready Paper in the same e-mail.

2. Please address the reviewers’ recommendations, correct the final version of your paper, and provide a list of the modifications you made. All authors must agree to the final version. Check carefully that authors’ names and affiliations are correct.

3. Include the copyright line at the bottom of the first page*:

For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is:
U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright

For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is:
978-1-5386-2098-4/17/$31.00 ©2017 Crown

For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is:
978-1-5386-2098-4/17/$31.00 ©2017 European Union

For all other papers the copyright notice is:
978-1-5386-2098-4/17/$31.00 ©2017 IEEE

*You can look at an example of this in any paper from conferences in IEEE Xplore, an example from last year’s Latincom is attached “CopyrightLineExample2016.png”.

4. Check the format of your paper.
It must follow one of the templates from
http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html

Do not use page numbers.

Please follow the IEEE Xplore compliant guidelines (attached 57026_IEEE_PDF_Spec.zip), including the copyright line at the bottom of the first page.

The most common error found in files that fail to meet IEEE Xplore® compliance requirements is the failure to embed all fonts.
If you are using Adobe Acrobat Distiller, please select (check) these items in the Settings “Fonts” tab:

a. Embed All Fonts
b. Subset All Embedded Fonts Below 100%

If you are using the Adobe Acrobat Distiller to print your PDF, you can use one of the configurations (Acrobat Distiller’s joboptions) created by IEEE in order to make a compliant IEEE Xplore PDF. (You can look for the file that matches your Acrobat version in the attached IEEE_PDF_Create.zip)

5. Check the compatibility of your PDF file in the IEEE PDF-eXpress Plus application using the link: http://www.pdf-express.org/plus/
This tool will also let you create IEEE Xplore compliant PDFs:

First-time users should do the following:
5.1.  Select the New Users – Click Here link.
5.2.  Enter the following:
42353XP for the Conference ID
your email address
a password
5.3.  Continue to enter information as prompted.

An online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF-eXpress or IEEE PDF eXpress Plus need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

Please submit your final paper by October 22nd. You must submit your paper to this email c.velasquez@ieee.org. Please use “IEEE LATINCOM 2017 Final Paper Upload” without quotes as email subject and use the JEMS paper code for your PDF name (xxxxxx.pdf).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Carlos Velásquez-Villada
IEEE LATINCOM 2017 – Publications Chair
